As part of Charlotte Douglas International Airport's $2.5 billion capital investment program, construction has begun on a new central energy plant for the terminal lobby. Precision Plumbing is working on the plumbing systems that will serve the CEP infrastructure, including 600 lf of trench drain, 1,400 lf of sanitary piping and 1,100 lf of water piping. A 40,000 sq ft facility will house the boilers and chillers that will serve the expanded terminal and airport facility. This new energy plant will prepare for future airport growth as it provides necessary heated and chilled water for the lobby's climate control.
