PROJECT OVERVIEW

We partnered on the Charlotte Douglas International Airport Terminal Lobby Expansion and Central Energy Plant project, a large-scale infrastructure upgrade supporting one of the busiest airport hubs in the region. Working under a joint venture general contractor, we delivered the full plumbing scope for the Central Energy Plant, which plays a critical role in supporting terminal operations. This included coordination within a highly regulated airport environment, requiring strict adherence to security protocols, phased construction schedules, and ongoing operational constraints.

Our team provided comprehensive plumbing services from underground utilities through final system commissioning. Scope included installation of domestic water, sanitary, and storm systems, as well as natural gas piping, roof drainage, and specialty systems such as water treatment, pumps, and fixtures. We also handled excavation, layout, equipment setting, and full system testing, ensuring all components were fully integrated and operational. Leveraging BIM coordination and detailed shop drawings, we collaborated closely with other trades to navigate complex spatial constraints and deliver a precise, high-performance installation.

Throughout the project, we supported commissioning, start-up, and performance testing to ensure long-term reliability of the facility. Our work contributed to a modernized, efficient infrastructure that supports ongoing airport expansion and passenger growth. By maintaining a strong focus on coordination, quality control, and schedule adherence, we successfully delivered a complete plumbing system that met the demanding standards of both the contractor and airport authority.
